Introduction
The nation’s leading provider of bus transportation sought to rebrand itself as a viable option for young professionals. Part of this effort involved outfitting its fleet with Wi-Fi capabilities. Total scale involved 1600 buses across North America.
How Strategic Telecom Solutions Helped
STS consulted with the company to determine a solution for passenger-facing Wi-Fi. Through our discussions, we also discovered additional applications of the technology that would help with operation and maintenance of their vehicles as well. Over the course of 18 months, we consulted with the client and deployed the solution nationwide. In order to analyze return on investment, we also supplied assistance in gathering data on passenger Wi-Fi usage – from the total number of users to the average session length and beyond.
Results
As part of a rebrand, we helped the company achieve their objective evolution into a modern transportation alternative. Even further, the usage data we provided helped in the company’s marketing and advertising efforts. Today, true to the company’s vision, passengers enjoy uninterrupted Wi-Fi connectivity on buses throughout North America. As a further benefit, the company enjoys increased efficiencies through wireless-enabled ticket and luggage tag scanning.
