When faced with such a challenge, one national department store chain, sought to reduce its internal IT costs by finding an outsourcing partner that could accommodate their wireless communication needs.
How Strategic Telecom Solutions Helped
STS kitted and deployed 2100 wireless devices to department store personnel. STS provided an onsite project management team which set up a schedule for new users to obtain their device and receive training. By using Blackberry Enterprise Servers, STS was able to port all the user’s contacts to the new device.
Although the deployment process was expected to take over six months, the agility of STS enabled the deployment to be completed in just 60 days. For the next 30 days, STS provided tier 1 and tier 2 help desk support to assist with the new users.
As a result, the department store chain had a seamless conversion to a new wireless carrier. The new wireless solution was more cost effective by reducing headcount in the IT department and eliminating the need for internal support. Because of STS’s comprehensive deployment strategy, we completed the rollout 60 days sooner than requested. At one point, we prepped, ported and distributed 1000 devices in a single week.
